The drive takes about 8-10 hours, but the scenic route offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy Uganda’s stunning landscapes, including lush green hills, small villages, and tea plantations.

Along the way, you’ll stop at the equator in Kayabwe for some memorable photos and a brief explanation of this unique geographical location. You can also pick up some local handicrafts at the nearby markets.

By the time you reach Bwindi in the evening, you will check into your lodge and spend the night relaxing and preparing for the gorilla trek the next day.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Day 2 is the highlight of your Uganda gorilla safari. After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. They will explain the rules and guidelines for trekking, and you’ll be assigned a specific gorilla family to track.

The trek can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas, as they roam freely in their natural habitat. The trek will take you through the dense forest, with steep terrain and sometimes muddy conditions. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend an unforgettable hour observing them as they go about their daily lives. You may witness them feeding, playing, grooming, and interacting with each other. After the trek, you will return to your lodge to relax and reflect on the day’s adventure.

Day 3: Departure and Drive Back to Entebbe

On the final day of your safari, you’ll enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your lodge before starting the journey back to Entebbe. While the drive is long, you’ll once again have the chance to take in Uganda’s beautiful scenery. Depending on your flight schedule, you may arrive in Entebbe in time for your departure flight or opt for an overnight stay in the city.
